For Christmas in Miami in 2026, choose venue dates before collecting tickets. This guide develops three metropolitan-area outings: Deering Estate’s historic holiday decorations, Nights of Lights at Pinecrest Gardens and NightGarden at Fairchild. They offer different experiences, with one daytime option and two alternative nighttime light visits.

Information was consulted on 5 November 2026 through the operators’ own websites. Documentary archive photographs show the venues without establishing their current decorations. The priority is understanding what operates on your date, what admission includes and how to organise an enjoyable outing without making transfers its main activity.

1. Deering Estate: daytime decorations and a Christmas closure

Deering Estate advertises Historic Holidays Décor: Tides & Tidings from 27 November 2026 to 6 January 2027. The programme places decorations in Richmond Cottage and connects the theme with Biscayne Bay. This is a daytime outing in Palmetto Bay, south of central Miami, combining heritage and natural surroundings without necessarily purchasing a nighttime light trail.

There is an important booking distinction: the estate closes on 25 December, and Stone House is closed for restoration while the rest of the property remains open. Do not confuse this estate with Vizcaya, a different Miami attraction. Published general admission is $18 for adults aged 15 and over and $10 for children aged 4–14, plus tax; children under four enter free. The event text lists grounds open until 17:00 with entry gates closing at 16:00. Arrive with enough visiting time rather than treating that final entry hour as the start of a long tour. Check your selected date’s arrangements before departure.

2. Pinecrest Gardens: Nights of Lights runs on fifteen specific nights

Pinecrest Gardens advertises Nights of Lights from 4–27 December 2026, 18:30–22:00, on selected dates. Its calendar lists 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26 and 27 December. The distinction matters: a date range does not mean nightly operation, and the consulted list does not include 24 or 25 December.

The programme combines illuminated paths, performances and family activities, but characters and entertainment vary by night. Jolly Craft Corner and holiday classes need paid add-ons rather than automatically belonging to general admission. The website lists free parking and tickets valid for the selected date. It also describes a rain-or-shine event, final non-refundable sales and no date exchanges. Read that policy before buying for a large group and check the current fare for your chosen session. We do not publish a universal ticket price that the page does not establish. Choose the night around the actual experience your family wants.

3. Fairchild: NightGarden, with skating as an extra

NightGarden takes place at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables. The operator advertises a 12 November 2026 start, while the garden’s page describes selected evenings through 3 January. Announced features include the light-and-sound walk, Archimedes the talking tree and a real-ice skating rink. The photograph is an archive daytime garden view rather than the 2026 nighttime installation.

Published admission starts at $28 according to the operator; that is not a fixed fare for every date or category. Skating requires a separate add-on and a valid NightGarden ticket. Food and drinks are also separate purchases. General hours are listed as 18:00–22:00 Sunday–Thursday and until 23:00 Friday–Saturday, with special New Year’s Eve hours. Check the actual dates offered in the ticket calendar. Parking is limited, and the operator places rideshare pickup inside the entry area near the box office. Follow its signs rather than automatically waiting at the Old Cutler Road front gate. Planning that return point before the outing helps when children are tired.

What to book for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and afterwards

For a trip centred on 24 and 25 December, avoid purchasing outings on the assumption that all three venues operate alike. Deering Estate publishes a Christmas Day closure; the consulted Nights of Lights calendar does not list 24 or 25 December. Check NightGarden’s particular date and available admission before relying on it for those days. General opening hours do not establish an available session for an entire family.

After 27 December, Pinecrest’s published calendar has ended. Fairchild’s page describes NightGarden through 3 January, while Deering’s historic decorations are advertised through 6 January. They are separate programmes rather than one regional ticket extended through Epiphany everywhere. If a particular activity is the main reason for travelling, choose the date from its operator and review it before departure. Third-party dates and broad summaries can lag behind a venue’s own calendar. Matching your travel days to the right programme is more useful than simply choosing the longest advertised festive season.

Budgeting, transfers and a family pace

Separate admission, add-ons, food and transport. As a limited example, two adults and two children aged 4–14 would total $56 before tax for Deering Estate’s published general admission. That subtotal excludes the other venues. For NightGarden, use the actual price for your date and add skating only if wanted. Check Pinecrest admission and optional activities during purchase. Comparing the full group cost prevents a headline starting price from becoming a mistaken budget for the entire outing.

These three sites are in the metropolitan area rather than adjacent Downtown stops. Locate each entrance and the complete return journey from your accommodation before fixing sessions. Deering can occupy a daytime block and one light event the evening. Linking two gardens in one night leaves less margin for transfers, dinner and breaks. NightGarden allows pushchairs subject to security checks according to its FAQ, and does not allow re-entry after leaving. Prepare what the family needs before entering instead of depending on a return to the car halfway through the experience.

A route to get you started

  1. Daytime option: give Deering Estate its own block, accounting for Stone House’s closure and last admission. Choose the visit for Richmond Cottage and the available surroundings without assuming a nighttime trail is included with general admission.
  2. Light-event option: choose Pinecrest or Fairchild according to your date, activities and budget. Reserve a session compatible with dinner and the return journey. If skating is essential, check its add-on and conditions before purchasing NightGarden admission.
  3. With more time: save the other garden for another evening. For 24 or 25 December, prepare an alternative while confirming each actual calendar. Enjoying one experience with room to spare can be more rewarding than attempting all three venues in a single outing.

Good to know

Does Deering Estate open on Christmas Day?

No. The official event page states a 25 December closure. Stone House is also closed for restoration, although the rest of the estate remains available under its operating arrangements.

Does Pinecrest hold Nights of Lights every December evening?

No. It publishes fifteen dates between 4 and 27 December. The consulted list excludes 24 and 25 December; choose the specific night before paying.

Is skating included with NightGarden admission?

No. The operator requires a separate skating add-on and valid NightGarden admission. Food and drinks are also purchased separately.

Can one ticket cover all three venues?

There is no verified combined ticket for this selection. Each venue has its own conditions. Budget and organise transport separately and prioritise one nighttime activity per outing.

Choose around your family’s calendar and pace. A daytime visit and one evening garden can provide varied experiences when admission and transfers are planned separately and there is room to rest instead of rushing between bookings.
